Meteor Strike in Russia

An ordinary day at zero temperature
in the mountain regions of Russia
then without warning a meteor
streaks across the sky
people rush to the windows
to look out only to be struck
with exploding glass
after the sonic boom
gives a seismic shock  
and children scream,

old men cry out,

and the town scrambles

to make sense of the attack.
