Our deck hangs over
the large lake
blending into the mist
that hovers above the water
the cry of the geese
just out of sight
reminds us there is life
outside the fog
and to the right
the sun seeps through
like an omnipresent
god radiating love
and promise
for a new day
then one by one
the trees appear
like soldiers marching
across a blue sky.
