doesn’t look left or right when he crosses the street
a flightless bird with the speed of a track star
hoping over rattlesnakes and tortoise shells
sidestepping holes left by prairie dogs
not the cartoon character of Looney Tunes
but an aero dynamic creature of the desert plains.
