Cluck, cluck, cluck
eggs delivered
life forms within
Tap, tap, tap
wet and small
yolk is gone
Peck, peck, peck
little chicks emerge
springtime begins
Cheep, cheep, cheep
need grit and feed
water to drink
Cluck, cluck, cheep, cheep
Mama and babies
parade all around.
After writing this sublime
poem, earthquakes and tsunamis
wreck havoc in Japan.
Maybe it's time to reconcile
with those you love, pray
for all you're worth and
lend a hand for all those suffering.
