Early Morning
Mama could never remember
That moment I could never forget
Dad reached over and held her close,
Whispered something in her ear
They were different next morning
The way they smiled when their eyes met
Coffee perking, Mama humming
I knew I wanted some of that
Got between them when they hugged
breathing in that precious love.
Nine months later the twins were born
nothing was ever the same again.
