Little children with dark brown skin
dark eyes and white teeth
line up along the roadway
offering their wares in out stretched hands
“Hey lady, you want to buy?”
She looks away from their tattered clothes
and the dirt beneath their fingernails
then offers ten dollars for a box of Chiclets
