The father's came from across the sea
told the locals of an every lasting life
in a heaven beyond the clouds
through hard work and occasional small pox
they convinced the tribes to look up to the sky to find
God and, through him, pray for blessings on earth
They were warned to be wary of the molten fire
that burned below the ground
where Satan offered his evil wares
One by one believers gave up mother earth
to immerse in the water of redemption
then sang alleluia to the God above
