A full moon sheds light
on the silhouette
of the thief creeping
into your daughter’s window.
He demands a kiss,
stolen
before she is sixteen,
tempting
even the strongest of wills
she tumbles into the abyss
leaving an ethereal trail
which you can’t follow
and from which
she cannot return
an innocent child.
